JACKSON - Pro Origins 1985 - Limited Edition San Dimas® SD1 HS FR - ebony Fingerboard - Yellow Bengal
Product Code: 291-0059-500
Jackson Guitars offers up a spicy, shred-happy blast from the past in the form of this limited-edition Pro Origins 1985 San Dimas. Available in a limited quantity, this guitar sports a full-size Jackson San Dimas alder body combined with a maple neck that’s built for your fastest licks.
You’ll also find period-correct Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups and a compound-radius fingerboard for extreme playing comfort. Lastly, the Pro Origins 1985 San Dimas features a Floyd Rose 1000 double-locking tremolo to satisfy all your dive-bombing and pitch-shrieking tendencies. ’80s stadium rock is back — and the Jackson Pro Origins 1985 San Dimas is taking center stage.
The nostalgic factor is cranked to the max with the Pro Origins 1985 San Dimas, starting with the classic San Dimas body. The Jackson Custom Shop had to dust off its original jigs to re-create this iconic shape. While there was no standard for tonewoods used in hot-rodded shred guitars in the heyday of rock guitar, the Pro Origins 1985 San Dimas features the classic pairing of an alder body and a satin-finished maple neck.
When combined with the Speed Neck profile and the compound-radius fingerboard, you get an ultra-luxurious playing experience that’s difficult to put down. Furthermore, the neck’s graphite reinforcement adds rigidity to resist warping and twisting. To top it off, Jackson’s historic pointed headstock adds the finishing touch to this time-capsule instrument.
Cranking out relentless metal tones, the Jackson Pro Origins 1985 San Dimas harnesses its Seymour Duncan humbuckers for pure high-gain fury. In the bridge, you’ll find a JB Model — standard equipment on late-1980s Jacksons. The JB Model is the classic hot-rodded humbucker, delivering the sound we’ve all loved for the last 30 years. In the neck position, you’ll find a Hot Rails single-coil-sized humbucker. Don’t let the size of this pickup fool you; its powerful ceramic magnet and overwound coils deliver massive, metal-ready muscle with harmonic-rich mids, aggressive crunch, and a thick, fluid feel for solos.
Adventurous guitarists who want to unlock their full potential need an instrument that can accommodate the full gamut of playing techniques with steadfast reliability. That’s why the Pro Origins 1985 San Dimas includes a top-mounted Floyd Rose 1000 double-locking tremolo. The Floyd Rose enables you to dive-bomb, shriek, squeak, and flutter all you want, and you’ll experience rock-solid response and tuning stability. Whether you use or abuse it, you’ll have trouble knocking this San Dimas out of tune.
